_SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION
_
The Project Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and oversight of Project Management activities for the Controls & Monitoring Department of the Transmission & Distribution Project Management Office. The Project Specialist will ensure effective communication and coordination is maintained between Asset Management, Engineering and Planning, Construction, Substations, Finance and all aspects of the Project Management Office. _

_DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS_

Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Develop and maintain project and performance metrics
Review program & project performance and recommend improvements
Plan, direct and set priorities with reporting staff to ensure timely task completion
Ensure all requirements of the Project Management Policy are adhered to
Ensure objectives are identified and results meet scope, quality, schedule and cost requirements for identifiedprojects and programs
Receive guidance and oversight from the Project Manager
Handle multiple conflicting tasks while managing demanding schedule/situations
Proficient with the use of SAP, and all Microsoft software including Microsoft Project
Training project management principles
Most job time is spent in office environment, with some exposure to field environment & weather
Occasional lifting of materials up to 30 pounds
Statewide travel and extended hours may be required
_GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
_
Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
Strong interpersonal communication skills
B.S. degree in Business, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
Project Management Certification a plus and ability to obtain highly desired
Have a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals ofProject Management. Experience in Transmission and Distribution Gas and Electric activities preferred
Strong organizational skills and ability to create professional documentation
Understanding of project management fundamentals required
