_SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION
_
Perform weed spraying and other right-of-way maintenance and mitigation work throughout the company on company property and along gas and electric rights of ways.
_DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS_

Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Perform notifications to landowners prior to vegetation management projects.
Perform weed spraying and other right-of-way maintenance and mitigation work throughout the company on company property and along gas and electric rights of ways.
Coordinate with Government landowner agencies such as the Forest Service, BLM, and State Lands, to plan and execute vegetation management projects.
Coordinate with division and district operations to execute the weed control process as requested.
Required to respond during major storm work and work long hours in inclement conditions.
Assist in preparation of the Vegetation Management Department annual budget.
Perform maintenance on vehicles and power operated equipment with little or no supervision associated with the vegetation management functions.
Perform landscape and vegetation repair and restoration as needed and directed by supervision
Majority of time is spent outdoors in a variety of weather conditions with additional exposure to chemical and machinery hazards
Most job time spent working in a standing, walking and bending positions with very limited sitting
State wide travel with overnight trips required up to 75% of time.
Continuous lifting of materials weighing 20 to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds is necessary
Overtime and extended hours may be required
_GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
_
Must be able to demonstrate a good safety record
Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills
Prior experience in vegetation restoration work preferred
Operator experience with backhoe, skid steer, tractor, loader, and grader preferred
Must be able to follow instructions as directed and communicate and interact positively with fellow employees, customers, and supervisors
Montana State pesticide applicators certification required or attained within 6 months of employment
Valid Montana CDL required or be attained within 6-months of employment.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
